I chose Scuba-Fun based on reviews and the fact that I would have no difficulty finding the Wyland Mural Building. (I have a terrible sense of direction.)

I was not disappointed. They are a fantastic team: caring, professional and great fun. Diego was an amazing teacher and thanks to him I got my Open Water Certification and some beautiful dives off Molasses Reef. (Not bad for a 60 year old grandmother!) I am so happy.

They organise everything and have great rates. If you want to learn from the best go to Scuba-Fun.

Thank you to the staff of Scuba Fun in Key Largo. If you think that the Keys are not the place to go diving this year you are missing out. The only oil I saw this year was on my salad that I had for dinner. Diving with Scuba Fun in Key Largo was the most incredible time I have had. They thought of everything to insure that my dive vacation was one of the best. The guides made sure that I got the best tour of every dive site. They offered incredible packages for more than just diving. Make sure that you plan to see all that the Key’s have to offer, Scuba Fun will help you. I am looking forward to going back again soon.

Doris (July 2010)

We chose Scuba-Fun for our first ever trip the Florida Keys in July 2010. Their rates and packages were among the best I could find in Key Largo. I told them what we wanted, primarily a dive trip, and they set up everything - accommodations, dives, and land-based tours. They have some terrific packages and hotel options on their website - check them out. Anya, Diane, Jason and Doug took excellent care of us while we were there. They are also multi-lingual, speaking (fluent!)German, French and Spanish, as well as English.

We stayed at the Suites of Key Largo. It was a one bedroom with a kitchen, right on the marina. The hotel has been around for a while, so it doesn't sparkle like new anymore, but it was clean and comfortable and we had a kitchen, which helped save on some expenses. For our needs, it was perfect. Anya also provided recommendations (and a few discounts) on local dining - and all of her recommendations were awesome! While you are there, make sure you eat at the Fish House, or the Fish House Encore (live music).

We got in some amazing dives and did a fabulous tour of the Everglades. This tour is a must do, but be aware that it is not a 'walk in the park'! You will slog through the Everglades (could be wet, depending on the season), but you will see the Everglades up close and personal. Everything was taken care of by Scuba-Fun - they even took our dive gear each day and rinsed and hung it to dry and returned it to the boat for our next day's dives. I felt very pampered. It's probably the least amount of work I have ever had to do on a dive trip! Anya also arranged for us to head down to Key West and dive the Vandenberg. She booked accommodations and dives - all we had to do was show up!

Scuba-Fun does not have their own boats. Sounds strange, but it's actually an advantage. Because they don't have their own boats, they are not tied to a specific itinerary. You just let them know where you would like to dive, or what type of diving you are interested in, and they get you on a boat to that site, or that kind of diving. I let Anya pick some of the sites, except for the Spiegel Grove which is a must-dive, and she picked some awesome dives.

I would highly recommend Scuba-Fun if a trip to the Florida Keys is on your wish list.

Suba Fun Dive Center is one of the premier dive centers in the FL Keys. Located in the Wyland building (look for the huge building in the median at MM 99.2 with the spectacular murals all over it), this top rate scuba operation can take care of your every need.

From gear rental to classroom instruction, lodging to guided reef tours, there is no aspect of a perfect dive trip that they have not thought of. Their multi-lingual staff makes reservations a breeze and you will always be sure that your dive and boat instructions are clear. The dives speak for themselves and the reefs in Key Largo are absolutely amazing. You can even rent a great camera to use underwater from Scuba-Fun for barely more than the cost of a disposable camera!

Anya has been diving these waters for so long that there probably is not a coral head she hasn't looked under or a creature she hasn't seen. Her instruction is top notch and her focus on safe fun is unparalleled.

The storefront is fantastic- it is roomy, comfortable, has a place to sit and browse books/magazines and complimentary beverages. There is a wide selection of dive goods for sale from shirts to masks to cameras. Skip the big stores and stop over to Scuba-Fun for some excellent, friendly one on one service.

We had great time, everything was perfect. Rick was amazing with Cata. Thank you very much!

Sven, Anya, Rick and Avery:

I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for a great time while in Key Largo. The dives were great. Avery did a great job leading us on Friday afternoon. The equipment worked well and the accomodations were perfect for our needs.

Don, Alan and I really enjoyed each of the dives. Both Alan and Don have been diving for decades. As the novice of the group (just my 2nd time on a boat dive) and the organizer, I had concerns about what would happen working with someone unknown to us. Alan, a New Zealander, who just finished a live aboard over Christmas on the Great Barrier Reef, felt the sites we saw and the variety of life was as good as any he has experienced. We agreed that this was worth every penny.

Again, thanks. While my dives are limited, these will be memorable dives for me.

Christian (July 2008)

Just got back from Key Largo, it was great!

1.5 days of intensive diving, with great service from Anya. Everything worked out perfectly, starting with the first extensive and friendly information to the booking - she even noticed that my coworker needed a Checkdive..

The rental gear was in great shape, of all the dive centers I have visited this was surely the best...

And if you are diving in the Keys for the first time, you will be happy to have a dive guide like Rick, who very patiently explains everything.

I watched Rick teach an AOW class in the afternoon, and I can say that this is how you learn well.

The dive sites are really nice, the water is very warm, the visibility is (mostly) great, interesting divesites.

Spiegel Grove - a wreck sunk for divers - is unbelievable - for beginning wreck divers an unforgettable adventure, because you can dive into it fairly safely. If you want to do 4 dives a day it might be a little too much, so plan your time...

And if you want to eat well, ask Anya, her advice is excellent!

So, if you are in the area, reserve at least one day for diving and stop by at Scuba-Fun.

Marianne (May 2008)

I can't stop telling people how great your operation is. (...) Stacy loved diving. She wants to do advanced, rescue and dm and be an instructor at 18. I am sure that part of it was the positive experience of your boat and you guys. So Thanks to you too.

Martina and Klaus (May 2008)

Based on the many positive reports about Scuba-Fun in Key Largo, we decided to spend our vacation there 3 week s ago.

This dive center is very dilligent and organized. The gear is in top shape. After a baby break of 3 years, we did a refresher instructed by Rick

in the pool, followed by several boat dives to the reef. We even did the first wreck dive of our diving career, which was really very impressive. Anya always tried not to book us on crowded boats - we really appreciated this!

We will always remember Anya, Greta and Rick, our 1 1/2 year old son is still talking about Anya!

There is no better dive center, the area is great, we would definitely come back! All the best, Martina, Tim and Klaus

Uwe (February 2008)

At first we were pretty doubtful...Florida and diving...but it was worth it...

The dives, the service, the equipment, everything was excellent.

I have never experienced service like they offer it at Scuba-Fun. Anya in the shop, our guide Rick and the whole crew very very friendly. The equipment looked newer than I have ever seen anywhere else.

Unfortunately we only had time for two dives, but we want to come back. This is diving how it should be.

Stacy, Steven, Wendi and Adam (December 2007)

Hi Rob and Anya,

We just wanted to thank you for EVERYTHING! Finding a boat running on Christmas Day, getting everything set up, and for making our certification dives an awesome experience! We are looking forward to diving together again. We are in Florida at least twice a year so we'll have to make the Keys one of our regular stops.

Thanks again. Have a happy and a healthy New Year.

Stacy, Steven, Wendi and Adam

“We took are PADI Open Water Scuba course at Scuba Fun. The instructors taught us all we needed to know in an efficient and fun manner. The boat dives were done on a wreck and on a reef off Key Largo. The dives in and of themselves were very interesting and a lot of fun. We drove down from Fort Lauderdale and it was well worth the trip. I highly recommend Scuba Fun and I look forward to going back in the future.”

“My best friend and I did our certification this last weekend with scuba fun. Anya greeted us and covered the class room part of the certification, she definitely made us feel comfortable and took the stress out of the book work portion. She encouraged questions and assisted us with selecting scuba equipment. To my surprise she had a no pressure sales approach and did not push anything on you. Their prices are very competitive! Suprisingly even cheaper then the big name chain just a few blocks away. I will definitely be buying all my equipment from them. Now as for the instructors, not much I can say except true professionals! Thanks to Jeff and his partner we had a blast, they took their time explaining everything to us and showed us all the skills multiple times just to make sure we were comfortable with our selves. Ultimately I couldn't be happier with the over all experience. Scuba Fun is truly a one stop shop for all your scuba needs. I highly recommend them to anyone.”

I did my open water dive certification with Scuba Fun and am looking forward to doing additional certifications with them. They are very responsive, extremely polite and very knowledgeable! Great company to go with!

You can't go wrong with this dive center! All the dives were through Horizon Divers but Scuba Fun took care of the arrangements. Great sites with great instructors!

July 2011

I did my Open Water Diver certification with Scuba Fun in two very full, but fun days about a week apart. I need to echo the strengths mentioned in the other reviews--very responsive (via e-mail, my preferred communication), great instructors (I had Rob, Elana, & Jeff), nice rental gear, and very competitive pricing. I was very nervous my first day, but by the afternoon was feeling far more comfortable, due to the support of the instructors. They were not pushovers by any means--if they thought you needed to repeat a skill in order to learn it and demonstrate it property, they made you repeat it. I liked that because it gave me more confidence once I "got" it. Plus, the instructors were very supportive through the whole process. The Open Water dives were magical--on Molasses Reef in Key Largo--gorgeous fish, incredible coral formations, and terrific support from instructor Jeff. A great experience--I will be back to dive with Scuba Fun as soon as possible!

Myself and my adult children planned a 4 day diving and fishing vacation. I and my daughter needed a refresher course and my son needed to be certified. We used Rick for the refresher and certification. He did a great job. He was prefessional, knowledgeable and comprehensive. I had not been in the area for a long time so we relied on Scuba-Fun not only to help us with the diving but, for recommendations for food and fishing. Every recommendation was perfect. We enjoyed the best diving, fishing and eating we could have wanted. Clearly quality people know other quality people. We will use them again.

Many thanks to all the staff at Scuba Fun, they were very professional knew their stuff and went above and beyond to see that my family had a terrific diving experience.

The owner of this shop, Anya is a wonderful person. She can co-ordinate a scuba trip or snorkeling trip. No high pressure. They can communicate in multiple languages which is very helpful to a travelor from Europe. She can also tell you great places to eat, sleep, etc. Anya is definately a go-to person for Key Largo. I would not consider going anywhere else.

May 2011

My partner and I were planning a scuba diving vacation to the Florida Keys. We were unfamiliar with the Dive Shops from Key Largo to Key West, therefore, we desperately needed advice regarding dive sites and dive shops. The Scuba Fun staff scheduled 15 dives from Key Largo to Key West using vendors along the coast. This save us an immense amount of time and effort. Every dive shop Scuba Fun provided was superb. Scuba Fun provided a list of confirmed dives; all we had to do was show up. We made one convenient payment to Scuba Fun for our 15 dives along the coast.

Diego and Diane were great dive guides on the Duane and the Eagle. Scuba Fun provided the dive guides (for a fee). Both were great! The staff at Scuba Fun was helpful, friendly and efficient. I would use them again to schedule another dive trip in the Florida Keys without hesitation.

May 2011

I came to Key Largo to spend the week scuba diving and discovered this shop online. They were very responsive and helpful in planning over email, which was key to my ability to make the most of this trip. I took many classes with them, including Rescue Diver certification, Wreck Specialty, Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty, Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty, and Enriched Air Specialty. Their instructors were friendly and patient, their shop was well stocked, their advice was excellent, and their flexibility with scheduling was amazing. I can't recommend this shop and the people enough. They had all of the equipment available and in great working order and were able to customize to my specific needs. For beginners or advanced divers, they had everything you could need to have a great trip.

Went in here to rent a dive computer, wound up buying a used one. Staff was very friendly and personable and while I didn't dive with them they seemed like a great group. Also if your looking for a company who can speak German this is the one for you. I may have to give them a try next time I am in Key Largo.

For years I wanted to learn how to Scuba dive. Scuba-Fun Dive center made this happen for me with little to almost no notice. I completed my elearning on-line. Flow to Florida on Monday and was learning how to dive on Tuesday. Thanks to Rick and staff, they made a dream come true. At Scuba-Fun, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, experienced, safe, and fun. The pricing is fare and I actually bought all my scuba gear from them rather than a large chain. I even bought a dive computer after I left. If you are a diver or just going to learn. I strongly recommended Scuba-Fun!
