How can you truly explore the world when over two-thirds of the Earth's surface is covered by water? The answer is Diving, and we can help get you there. We are Scuba-Fun, a premier scuba diving training facility in Key Largo. We are dedicated to helping you become a safe and proficient diver and to help you further develop your diving skills with additional training.

We work in a multitude of specialties: basic diving, open water diving, deep water diving, underwater rescue, navigation, photography, wreck diving, search and recovery, even drysuit ... you name it. If there is a dive specialty we can help teach you, be it beginner or advanced, then contact us and we will show you a world like no other.

Unlike traditional dive shops, Scuba-Fun offers flexibility. We assist a variety of people from all walks of life and skill levels with exactly the right training at exactly the right time. Our team will quickly learn your goals, needs, resources and constraints, then tailor a dive training solution that works best for you.

We also go beyond just teaching you to dive. We support a wide variety of local activities and encourage our fellow divers to participate and explore the numerous attractions that are available throughout the Florida Keys.

Scuba-Fun was founded with a vision of becoming a full-service dive training provider. Whether working with a group, or with you just one-on-one, our fundamental goal is to put your diving dream into motion.

The Team

We offer a full range of scuba classes and instruction, from Discover Scuba to professional Divemaster and Assistant Instructor  Training. The Scuba-Fun team loves to dive, and we show it! Our captains, instructors and divemasters are experienced full-time professionals who take your training and your safety seriously, and who also offer you a fun and relaxing dive experience.

 

Anya Elis (PADI IDC Staff Instructor and Master Scuba Diver Trainer)

Anya has been diving for 15 years and teaching for 6 years. She is well-known and appreciated as a diligent and patient dive instructor who is especially good at teaching children. Her friendly and fun manner has earned her the nickname "Sunshine" here in Key Largo... Anya knows Key Largo's Reefs inside and out and will happily also guide you on the best dive sites around Key Largo and our world famous wrecks.

Anya is originally from Southern Germany, but has travelled most of the world and speaks 5 languages. She has been living and teaching in Key Largo since the beginning of 2006.

 

Diego Anza (PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor & Master Scuba Diver Trainer) has been diving for 6 years. Diego is extremely motivated and loves to help divers overcome difficulties, find the cool stuff underwater, and have a great time! Diego also teaches the specialties Underwater Photography, Nitrox, Drift Diving, Deep Diving and Wreck Diving. This is his second stay in Key Largo, he loves it so much!

Diego is originally from Spain and has been diving all over the world. He speaks Spanish, perfect French and English.

 

Diane Kellermann (PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor) has been diving for 9 years and teaching since 2005. She is focused on safety and fun, and with her patience she is an excellent dive instructor, especially for children. Diane also teaches the specialties Wreck, Deep Diving, Navigation and Boat Diving. She has been on the Scuba-Fun team since October 2009.

Diane is originally from San Francisco and taught in Malta for a long time. Before that she lived in Germany. She speaks English and is also fluent in German.

 

Doug Gilmore (PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor) is originally from Florida. He has snorkeled in the Florida waters since the 1970s. Doug was first certified as an Open Water Diver in 1995 in Incirlik,Turkey. During his travels throughout the world, first in the Army and then as a Dive Traveler, he has dove in the Mediterranean, the Carribean, Mexico, Thailand and of course the Florida Keys! After 20 years in the US Army, and then 10 years as a Firefighter/EMT-Intermediate in Greeley, Colorado, he has returned to Florida as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Doug is really excited about being part of the Scuba-Fun team and loves meeting people and being able to use his German and Spanish. Most of all, he's excited about helping people learn how to dive, and showing off the beautiful Florida Keys.

 

Rob Doyle (USCG Master Captain and Master Scuba Diver Trainer)

Rob has been diving for 37 years and teaching for 10 years. Rob is known for his relaxed but fun manner. Be careful, his good mood is contagious! Rob has been working in the Florida Keys for 9 years, so he knows his way around the ocean and reefs around Key Largo very well.

Rob is originally from Australia, but has travelled most of the world. He has been living and working in Key Largo since 2000.

Garl Harrold (Everglades-Specialist and best Kayak-Guide)

Garl is a gentle, soft-spoken guy who knows every rock in the Everglades and every creature that lives under it. Take a guided Kayak Tour through the Mangroves in the ocean or through the Everglades! Garl can show you the manatees, the alligators, the dolphins and the sharks, and many beautiful birds of all kinds.

 

Jesus Gudino (PADI Divemaster)

Jesus has been diving for 13 years and has been working as a Divemaster and Diveguide for 10 years. He speaks spanish and english. Nobody knows the reefs in Key Largo as well as he does! Jesus knows every nook and hole in our reefs and knows exactly where the creatures hang out. We call him the "Fish Whisperer". If you go out on a dive with him, you will find out why.

Jesus is originally from Cancun in Mexico. He has been living and working in Key Largo since 2001.

 
Joe Berg (Underwater-Video-Professional and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor)
Joe has been diving for 10 years and has been perfecting his underwater video skills for just as long. He is a real professional when it comes to underwater filming, and his beautiful DVD productions are wonderful souvenirs of great days and dives.

Dive Boats we use

 

All our dive boats are regularly inspected by the United States Coast Guard. They all have oxygen, first aid and all safety equipment on board. Our captains and crew are full-time dive professionals, who take your comfort and your security seriously while trying to make your dive experience a relaxed and fun one.

Sea Dweller III
20 Divers Maximum
The "Sea Dweller III" is a fifty foot dive boat that is used for our reef dives.
She is a comfortable and fast dive boat. Although certified for 45 passengers, we usually limit the seating to 20 divers per trip. Her flush deck and sturdy fin ladders make diver entries and exits easy and comfortable.

Cheeca View
The "Cheeca View" is a 45 foot Catamaran specifically designed for scuba diving. The boat offers lots of space and is very fast! "Cheeca View" has a fresh water shower and a toilet on board, and the crew will provide you with free drinking water and juices.

Pisces
The "Pisces" is our dive boat for small groups and special dive trips. She is a 30 foot Island Hopper. She offers room for a maximum of 12 divers or 8 tech divers. There is a fresh water shower and a toilet on board, as well as free drinking water and juices. The "Pisces" will take you to the reefs and wrecks really fast, doing 18-20 knots.

 
Tropical Adventure
The Tropical Adventure is a 42 foot Newton that has been custom designed for maximum diver comfort and functionality. With two 300 HP engines, you'll spend less time riding, and more time diving. It's certified for 32 divers.

 
Tropical Voyager
20 Divers Maximum
The Tropical Voyager is over 40 feet long and can comfortably accommodate up to 25 divers, but we only fill it with that many if it's a group that knows each other, otherwise we hold it down to 20 divers so there is always plenty of room and comfort to move around and set up your equipment.

 
Santana and Ocean Diver
Comfortable and fast 50 foot dive boats with heads (toilets), fresh water showers and drinking water. Regular wreck diving schedule.

 
Scuba-Do
10 Divers Maximum
Scuba-Do is a custom dive boat. It was rebuilt a few years back - by divers, for divers! She is not just a boat you dive from….she is a great dive boat, innovatively laid out with the best diver comfort and convenience in mind! With fresh water shower and marine head, she is designed for maximum comfort.
